Wan Muhammad Afiq Danial, the second of four brothers, was born with bilateral hearing loss. He received his first cochlear implant at age 3.5 in his right ear, followed by a second implant in his left ear at age 12. He attended mainstream school from Year 1 to Form 5, integrating fully with his hearing peers.
Leadership Role
Since 2024, Danial has served as President of the SuperHEARo Club, leading initiatives and programs that support children with hearing impairments. His leadership has been instrumental in expanding the club's reach and impact across Malaysia.
Media Advocacy
Danial has become a prominent advocate for cochlear implant awareness, appearing on TV1's Panorama program and various media platforms. His willingness to share his story publicly has helped educate the public about hearing impairment and the life-changing impact of cochlear implants.
Academic & Athletic Excellence
Danial excels academically, receiving the 2024 Excellence Award. He also participates in sports competitions representing Sepang District, proving that hearing challenges are no barrier to athletic achievement.
Competition & Community Service
His achievements include third place in Hear Me Got Talents, second place in an entrepreneurship program, and active involvement in community service projects. Danial demonstrates that hearing challenges need not limit success across multiple fields.
